"MIKE DUNCAN:
"You" & "Lost for Words" (2x demo trax)
Simple lyrics
and deceptively simple melody lines, approached with passion,
awesome vocal delivery, and a gifted production suss. Laid-back
Adult Contemporary ballads are not my usual shot of tequila, but d@mn...
both these trax are simply beautiful. Looking forward to the album!

MICHAEL DUNCAN:
"Lost For Words"
(10-track ALBUM, recorded at MD Studios, Jhb)
Michael Duncan is a master of melody line and "Lost For Words" is
the proof. This adult-contemporary album is laid back - retro, even
- but Mr. Duncan has the style and class to achieve maximum effect
with the minimal touch of rock here and there - just when you least
expect it. Naaice.
The
terrific vocals are somewhat wasted on kinda ho-hum lyrics, but the
skilled, sensitive production speaks volumes of dues paid and sheer
songwriting talent. (I find myself wondering what a collaboration
between Michael Duncan and Dave Matthews would sound like... ?)
Stand-out trax: "You" - so very pretty; "She's a 69" - fun,
toe-tapping rock 'n roll; and "Lost For Words" - a simple, elegant
masterpiece that could easily be the theme track for the next great
Hollywood romance movie. If timeless adult-contemporary is your
thing, Michael Duncan could be your new favourite artiste.

Mike Duncan is anything BUT Lost For Words
Mike Duncan’s self-published album, Lost For Words, gives the world a
new voice to celebrate and sing along with in the shower, through your
iPod and on those special, romantic nights when you need an extra
special melody to set the mood. This singer-song writer’s diverse and
heartfelt lyrics provides an “outside of the canned” selection of tunes
that is sure to provide a new favorite song for your repertoire.
Haunting and soul-soothing, Duncan’s words and voice are refreshing and
comforting at the same time—like an old boyfriend you’re still in love
with and haven’t seen for years. The songs, while consistent in their
quality and impact, differ in tempo and style like a great album should.
Looking for a rising star to wish upon? Watch Mike Duncan shoot into
music stardom while, most adamantly, Lost For Words.

That is just wonderful. I have
quite an ear for music. There is a lot of music I don't
like. But your son has the type of voice that I could
listen too all day long! Congrats, Mom. Yes you must be
very proud of him. Hugs, Grannie
